Scrapbooking Layouts Series: The Big Day

May 24, 2007 by Ellie

Wedding morning smallUsing layout #2 from the series, ‘The Big Day’ shows several small photographs of the bride’s preparations on her morning.

.

The photographs were converted to black and white, but color was kept for the red rose. With so many photos this was going to be a busy layout, so I kept the color scheme simple.

Two things to be reconsidered:

  • the colored rose may have been better in the middle
  • the title would have been better for being embossed

I used these products:

  • Paper from the Colossal pack by Papermania
  • ‘big day’ stamp from Papermania
  • X-cut’s tag punch
  • Buttons from Papermania
  • die cut flowers
  • tiny little gems - sorry no identification on pack

The journaling reads:

The wedding MORNING …

  • you ate enough at breakfast for you AND Dan, while he, poor guy, hadn’t eaten a thing since Thursday!
  • one hairdresser for four ladies is not enough!
  • so glad we had connecting rooms at the hotel - we needed the space
  • tension rose for me during the last hour with my hair and makeup still not done
  • you were so calm

  • after all the build-up it was suddenly time to leave & Dad & I were rushing to finish dressing
  • ‘as a bride prepared for her bridegroom’ took on new meaning when I saw you
  • I said, ‘You look stunning!’ You said, ‘I’m supposed to!’ And grinned!
  • I was in a right tizz by the time we got to church – so much for elegance and calm
  • fortunately you did that beautifully!

When you’re running out of ideas, scrapbook templates are just what you need. Thanks for the idea.
