Scrapbooking Tips: Disappearing Ink

April 25, 2007 by Genie Balfour

Disappearing InkDisappearing ink … the thing of childhood games, spy stories and practical jokers. But did you ever think it could be a ? No? Then read on …

How do you get on when making titles for your scrapbook page? It can be hard to keep to a straight line, can’t it? That’s why it’s so common to have letters placed up and down along your title, for when it’s obviously out of line it doesn’t look so bad.

However, try drawing a line with disappearing ink, line up your letters or words and simply wait for the ink to vanish. This can take anything from a few minutes to about 48 hours, but what you’re left with is a straight title block and no line showing.

Always test on a spare sheet of scrapbook paper first of all, or on a section that will be hidden, for example, by the photo, before using on your project. You will want to make sure it does vanish, and to know how long it takes so you know how quickly you have to work.
