With the summer wedding season upon us let’s take a look at some of the latest scrapbooking wedding supplies.

A summer wedding is most young girl’s dream. It was certainly mine … a fairytale dress with a long train in which to float up the aisle; flowers in my hand and my hair; on the arm of a handsome father, with a handsome young man waiting at the front of the church for me. Then photographs taken in a beautiful setting, always to be treasured, followed by a wonderful meal with all my family and friends.

It didn’t all work out as I wished.

We were very young with very little money, but we saved up till we could afford enough for a few family members and close friends to attend a hotel reception in our home town.

I shopped in the sales and borrowed a few items; my sister-in-law generously gave me her wedding dress and I carried red roses from my mother’s garden for a bouquet. We used what we had where possible. And it was my handsome brother who escorted me up the aisle.

Family and friends were very generous, both with wedding gifts and furniture they no longer needed, and we had more than enough to set up home in our one-bedroom apartment.
