Fall Layout with Sketch #20
October 13, 2008 by Genie Balfour
This Fall layout idea is made with our scrapbooking sketch #20.
Autumn is a gloriously golden and fruitful time of year, with magnificent colors and abundant harvests. Lots of photo opportunities for you from the apple orchards to pumpkin patches.
When Isabella saw this photo by professional photographer Ben Earwicker at stock-xchng, it reminded her so very much of one of her sons as a toddler and the fun they had at this time of year. She decided to use it in this autumn layout along with a few memories from that time.
Read on to find out how she made the layout and for a product list.
The layout uses three papers overlapping around the image with just a few embellishments. The date, 1984, is in alphas on the right-hand side of the photo, and the journaling is at the bottom. Sticking to the browns of the photo’s earthy background for the layout allows the subject in the photograph to stand out. The photographer is credited on the leaf beside the flower embellishment.

If you don’t like to wear fall colors or don’t suit them in your clothing, as you can see, blue contrasts wonderfully well with them, and will show well in the photos.
Our fall layout and this month’s scrapbooking sketch - a great combination, yes? What will you make with it? Remember there’s a $10 Scrap Girls’ gift certificate for the best layout using our sketch this month. See the link at the top of the post to find out more.
